Flyers and Brochures
Flyers and brochures are what you should use to make an impact, and inform your customers or potential customers of your product offering. Flyers and brochures are some of the most inexpensive printing methods available to let your potential customers know what product or service you offer, and are also a way of keeping existing customers informed of any specials or prices that they should be aware of.
What Is The Difference Between Flyers and Brochures?
Traditionally, flyers are a printed in the format they are meant to be viewed and read. For example, a full sheet of paper, either single sided, or double sided, and either colour or black and white. These flyers are delivered or posted on bulletin boards, and how they are received is how they are read; as a whole page. Flyers are used to instantly impress your audience.
Your message should be obvious and should relay on only one or two basic points. The artwork should be loud and get the reader’s attention right away. These full sheets can be different sizes and different types of paper. A heavier paper is usually recommended for flyers that are being handed out. Flyers that are meant to be posted on a bulletin board would likely not be single sided, but double sided.
Brochures
A brochure is something that your customers might keep in their top drawer and use it for referencing your contact information or your services and products. Brochures can have specifications similar to a flyer, but a brochure almost always has printing on both sides. And unlike a flyer which is usually left flat, a brochure contains folds that create multiple panels or pages of information, such as a simple C-fold or the more creative double gatefold.
Single or Half Fold
A single fold brochure made by simply folding the paper in half, thus making four separate panels: (2-front + 2-back).
Z Fold
A Z-Fold Brochure is made by folding the paper in thirds in “zig zags.” It opens like an accordion in the shape of a “Z”.
Tri-Fold or Brochure Fold
A Tri-Fold Brochure is made by folding the paper in thirds. After folding it consists of six panels (3-front + 3-back) with the right panel tucked inside of the panels created by the first fold.
Flyers and Brochures
The messaging of brochures is usually very different than the messaging from a flyer. The brochures should be chock full of information and describe your process, your features, your advantages, and your benefits. Brochures often also contain a pricelist, like on a menu or a list of services and prices. Contact Printing in Richmond for a free quote.
